Why the package number and the real number are different
A freshener releases scent by evaporation. Anything that speeds up evaporation shortens its life: heat, airflow, and surface area. That is the whole story, and it explains almost every disappointment.
Heat. A closed car in July reaches 50 to 60 degrees inside. A paper tree or a gel cartridge left on the dash gives up a week of scent in one afternoon. In winter the heater does the same thing to anything clipped on a vent, because the vent is exactly where the hot air comes out.
